Sustainable fashion for fair jobs
Our partner company in India was founded 10 years ago and employs 55 people. It employs tailors, cleaners, drivers and technical staff. There are women and men as well as young and older employees.
MARUTHACHALAM
The oldest employee is 86 years old and continues to be employed as a car door opener because he likes to come to work, even though he can no longer do strenuous work physically. Employees who fall ill also continue to receive their wages and are even financially supported by the company in terms of healing costs.
Many employees have been working in the company for many years and the boys receive an education and a sufficiently high income to feed a family. The employees were not afraid to work together with the visitors of bfair on the products and to express their opinion on them.
The company is located on the edge of a small town, is structurally in good condition and is certified according to GOTS, Fairtraide and SA 8000 as a social and sustainable production facility. By letting them produce our textiles, we help to preserve these jobs in times of high price pressure in the textile industry.

With our support, they can continue to increase and grow their quality. This will give more people a job and a chance of a secure income.
Everyone can become a “fashion revolutionary” and have a positive influence on the fashion industry with their behavior. But together we are stronger and together we achieve more.
